Revd. Jenny Arnold.
I am a foundation governor and have been the Rector of Christ Church Quinton for almost 4 years, living on the same site that church, pre-school and school share. When my children were younger I was a parent governor and chair of governors at another local primary school. I enjoy coming into school regularly to lead Collective Worship and also welcoming the school into the church building. I want to do all I can to encourage the distinctive Christian character of the school and to support all members of the whole school community.
Revd Andrew Wells.
I am a Foundation Governor and curate at Christchurch. For 36 years I was a Secondary School teacher and still do primary supply teaching when required. I see my role as being to support the whole school community and encourage the Christian ethos of the school.
I have been a Governor at Quinton Church Primary School for 7 years, including a stint in the Chair for 2 years. Originally an elected Parent Governor, I moved to become a Co-opted Governor following reconstitution of the Governing Body in May 2015. I’m married to Allan who is dual qualified both as a Social Worker and a Solicitor specialising in Welfare Rights work. Recently our elder daughter moved on to secondary school, although our younger daughter remains at Quinton. My day job is as a teacher of Philosophy and Religious Studies in a local sixth form college. Before that I taught RE and History for 16 years in a large comprehensive school in the east of Birmingham. I still love teaching and believe that it’s a complete privilege to be involved in the education of children and young people. I especially enjoy my weekly volunteering slot at Quinton listening to infant children read or supporting them in whatever learning adventure their teacher asks me to.
Until recently I lived in Quinton for 17 years and currently work within the Financial Services Industry.
I’ve been a governor since November 2013 and have a son who is in year 6 at the school.
I was keen to become a governor to assist the school in providing the very best for the children, allowing them to flourish in the best environment possible.
Hi! My name is Peter Sherwen. I’ve been a Foundation Governor for 4 years. I’ve been a member of Christ Church for about 30 years. I taught in Sandwell Primary schools for 35 years and have been a Teacher Governor but am now retired. I’m a member of the Fabric Team at Christ Church looking after the buildings, so have some experience of property matters. I’m on the Finance and Property Committee at school.
I am Parent governor, currently Vice Chair and a member of the Property & Finance subcommittee, employed within the property services industry. I have two children who attend Quinton Church Primary. I was elected to join the governing body during 2012, allowing me to support the school in providing the best environment for the children.
